Hello, All!

Well, life has certainly been a roller coaster lately. I'm drowning in my research paper, I've been to two concerts (The Koffin Kats and the Phenomenauts), saw "The Rat Pack is Back" two nights in a row, did the corn maze, picked pumpkins, had one mid-term, wrote an essay on Lewis & Clark, and tomorrow Patrick and I heading Portland, spending the day in Portland, seeing Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, then heading back the same night, throwing a Halloween bash, having breakfast the next day with my Aunt and Uncle who are visiting from California, and I have to write a 5 page paper about the American west, followed by a mid-term on the same topic on Monday. *huff*

So...yup. Just checkin' in with all you fine folks! BBVD will be amazing - I saw them in LA on New Years Eve a couple years back, they put on a good show. I hope to get some awesome photos too.

I hope you all have a lovely and safe Halloween!

NAME: Janey Von Lucky
EDU INFO: University Senior, History Major: Mid-20th century
(OTHER) HOBBIES: furniture and bicycle restoration, antiquing
COLLECTIONS: pin-ups, Converse, James Dean, 1964 presidential race memorabilia, Vietnam anti-war buttons, fedoras, old cameras, Pan Am

Many say I was born in the wrong era, which is true, but if asked if I wanted to go back in time, I would say no. It's better to create an ideal, rather than face the hard truth.

I think WWII is where the original and classic pin-up flourished. The pin-up of that era was the girl next door, the girl you were "fighting for". I really try to reach for that pin-up. You show just enough to make them curious and longing for more.

Excellent pin-up pics, hon. I simply love that old fashioned style of yesteryear like the work of Gil Elvgren and other such pin-ups that were more sexy than sleazy. Looking forward to seeing more of you.
