Hello, All!

Well, life has certainly been a roller coaster lately. I'm drowning in my research paper, I've been to two concerts (The Koffin Kats and the Phenomenauts), saw "The Rat Pack is Back" two nights in a row, did the corn maze, picked pumpkins, had one mid-term, wrote an essay on Lewis & Clark, and tomorrow Patrick and I heading Portland, spending the day in Portland, seeing Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, then heading back the same night, throwing a Halloween bash, having breakfast the next day with my Aunt and Uncle who are visiting from California, and I have to write a 5 page paper about the American west, followed by a mid-term on the same topic on Monday. *huff*

So...yup. Just checkin' in with all you fine folks! BBVD will be amazing - I saw them in LA on New Years Eve a couple years back, they put on a good show. I hope to get some awesome photos too.

I hope you all have a lovely and safe Halloween!

Life Has Arrived

Last week brought the first week of classes. I'm officially in my final year at college. This term brings my history seminar, where we write our 25 page research paper. Think of it as an undergrad thesis. My topic: Vice in Portland during the 1940s and 50s. The essay should be based mostly on primary documents, and this is causing me to spend a lot of time in the Special Collections of the library. All of the documents and books in SC cannot be removed from the library, which means I either have to remain in there, or spend 25 cents a page for them to photocopy items. This is also on top of other papers and other readings for other classes. *sigh*

So, what this gets down to...please pardon the possibilities of being MIA.

Thanks for all of the recent comments and :+fav:s!

I normally wouldn't do this here, since this my ART site, but I am trying to pull together all of my sources here.

In fall I am taking my seminar course where I write my 25 page research paper. The theme for my seminar is Oregon history, and I am leaning toward the idea of writing it about prostitution in Oregon. I have located a museum and archive in Astoria with information, as well as Pendleton which even has a tour of a brothel. But does anyone know of any others in Oregon?

Thanks!

P.S. Mysterious red dot keeps appearing in photos from the D90 - camera in for inspection.

The Boyfriend Has a New Camera

GOOD NEWS! My boyfriend, and main photographer purchased a new camera, a Nikon D90! So, pin-ups will be back in full swing here shortly! As for the old D50, I'll be purchasing it as well as paying for its repair. But I'll at least have my very own awesome digital camera. Before meeting my boyfriend, I shot purely film with an old 1970s Minolta. I was basically dragged kicking and screaming into digital. But after one day at the racetrack with the D50, I was in love.

That's about it. Survived the heat wave from last week, in the process of refinishing a desk I bought off Craig's List, final week of summer term classes next week! There's a lot going on!

Thanks for the love and support!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my latest pin-up, because it might be my last one for awhile. My main photographer, my boyfriend, dropped his camera (which I also use) and it looks like he broke the shutter. He dropped it off at the local camera shop, and they're checking it out. Keep your fingers crossed!

On another note, we're off to the roller derby tonight! Very excited. I'm taking my little Nikon Cool-Pix, but I doubt it will produce the amazing pictures of the Nikon D50.

Thanks again for the lovely comments and favorites!
